To help the Corps Officers in anyway needed in ongoing and special events coordination. Serve the corps in ongoing programs, help develop new programs, and help maintain existing programs. To provide clerical support for the department and maintain an information system for record keeping and reporting. To work within the limits of the agencies programs policies and procedures. The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the duties listed in the job description.


  • Assist in many capacities during all corps fundraising campaigns. (i.e. bell ringing, supervising employees time sheets, counting collected funds, bank deposits, write thank you letters to donors, etc.)
  • Assist in Holiday Distributions, organization, set-up, and distribution day.
  • Help coordinate all special events, including making contact and maintaining relationships with Salvation Army and public figures. Type and photocopy programs and flyers for special events. Send out mailings and invitations that pertain to special events.
  • Follow proper procedure for entering receivables in the Safe Guard Ledger.
  • Help prepare and make weekly deposits at the Bank as needed.
  • Pick up mail from post office and take mail to post office for outgoing mail on a daily basis.
  • Type, print, and prepare Sunday Program Bulletin.
  • Contact participants and inquire their requested participation for Sunday Holiness Meeting.
  • Make necessary phone calls when programs are cancelled or rescheduled.
  • Maintains employee files and confidential records.
  • Organize attendances sheet for payroll.
  • Assist as needed in all adult programs.
  • Keep record of statistics for all corps programming, enter electronically in its appropriate program and give a report to the Corps Officer.
  • Help organize and lead Sunday School as needed.
  • Help oversee corps programs, help develop corps programs, participate in corps programs, and support all other corps programming.
  • Update and create brochures and calendars of Regular Corps programs.
  • To invest in the lives of the corps members, developing and maintaining relational ministry opportunities.
  • Make the most of every opportunity to minister, pray, and present the gospel of Jesus Christ to those in your sphere of influence.
  • As necessary, receive guests, volunteers, and visitors into the building. Direct them to the correct contact according to need.
  • Reach out to visitors, clients, and volunteers to bring new men, women, and children into the Corps. As well as bridging the people from the weekly programs to the corps on Sunday’s.
  • You must perform all duties in compliance with Salvation Army policies and regulations. 
  • It should be noted that the above duties are the essential functions of the position, but other duties may be deemed necessary to the overall enhancement of The Salvation Army service may be required.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of college preferred
  • Proficient in computer software programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Lotus, etc.)
  • Has experience in children and youth Salvation Army programming in corps and community centers.
  • Has good organizational skills.
  • Display efficient computer skills and come basic design capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, positive attitude, initiative, flexibility, dependability, creativity and ability to work both independently and as a member of a professional team as well.
  • Is self-motivated and hard-working.
  • Ability to support, instruct and connect with children, staff, and church leaders.
  • Must be a mature Christian believer.
  • Is a uniform wearing Salvationist .
  • Has a commitment to evangelical Christian outreach.
