Overview

As lifeguard, provide oversight of the waterfront area. In the program department, carry out and assist with program activities as set out by the Program Director. On the grounds crew, carry out tasks on the grounds as set out by facilities supervisor.

Carry out all tasks in program during senior summer retreats as directed by the program director. This will include running tournaments, crafts, games and helping in chapel and assisting where needed in the dining room at meal times. Being present and assisting where needed at the special events on the senior program as well.

Responsibilities

  • As lifeguard, supervise and/or assist in guarding swimming, boating and any other water exercise.
  • Know all water safety regulations and be certain they are followed by everyone, without exception.
  • Docks to be thoroughly washed and cleaned every day.
  • Beach to be prepared and raked daily.
  • Boats to be cleaned and ready for use daily.
  • Storage shed to be maintained in a neat and organized manner at all times.
  • Notify Program Director of any injuries or incidents taking place at the waterfront during your shift.
  • Working as part of the grounds team to ensure a safe, aesthetically pleasing and well-prepared complex all times of the year.
  • Grass-cutting.
  • Custodial work in and around all complex buildings.
  • Landscaping across the complex.
  • Painting (indoors and outdoors).
  • Program set-up.
  • Work within the waste-management program across the complex.
  • Schedule may be altered to accommodate special events, retreats or to complete a specific task.
  • Be on-call during weather- and other emergencies.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Current Red Cross lifeguarding certification.
  • Experience working with people.
