The Salvation Army Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center is seeking a dedicated and organized Christmas Coordinator to help lead and support our annual Christmas programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating volunteers, and serving the community during one of the most impactful times of the year.

As the Christmas Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the success of our Red Kettle Campaign, Angel Tree Program, and Christmas Food Box Program, helping bring hope and joy to families throughout the Orrville area during the holiday season.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Red Kettle Campaign Support

  • Recruit, schedule, and communicate with volunteer bell ringers
  • Coordinate volunteer coverage for multiple kettle locations
  • Deliver, monitor, and retrieve kettle supplies
  • Respond to inquiries from volunteers and community groups

Christmas Program Coordination

  • Assist with the Angel Tree and Christmas Food Box programs
  • Support donor relationships and donation collection efforts
  • Participate in client intake and program administration
  • Help organize and facilitate distribution events

Administrative & Event Support

  • Maintain accurate schedules and records
  • Coordinate logistics for holiday programs
  • Assist with event setup, execution, and cleanup
  • Support the Service Center Director with additional seasonal needs

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer service, volunteer coordination, scheduling, or administrative experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
  • Comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities

Additional Requirements

  • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation preferred
  • Passion for serving others and supporting The Salvation Army's mission
