Overview

Position: Educator Assistant (EA)
Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA
Availability: Immediate
Schedule: Part Time. The EA must be willing and able to work Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM. The EA may need to work occasionally outside of the above for special events, including Saturdays.
Reporting Relationship: Education Director
Salary Grade: 73, Rate: $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Assist the Educator I in the implementation of traditional and non-traditional education and recreational activities for youth in grades K-7. Assist youth in grades K-7 with homework completion. Act as a role model for students. Exhibit a positive rapport and strong communication skills with program participants, staff, and parents. Assist with the planning and implementation of special events and Family Nights. Maintain a clean work environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, College credits in Education preferred. Experience in childcare or another related field helpful. Must be detail orientated and organized. Must be willing to work with a diverse population and age/grade groups. Must be safety orientated. Must have ability to work well with others while responding to direction and feedback. Ability to transition from school year programming to summer programming preferable.
As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
