Overview

Performs operational, compliance, financial, and investigative audits in accordance with professional standards and TSA guidelines.  Reviews and evaluates operations and completes work papers to document work performed.  Prepares and presents the results of audit work and recommendations to management. 

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Annual audits for all GNY operating units (37 Corps and 2 Residences)
  • Reviews and evaluates operations and completes work papers to document work performed
  • Prepares and presents the results of audit work and recommendations to management – verbal and written communications required
  • Coordinates and interacts with Divisional staff, Territorial staff, program and fiscal staff
  • Works closely with officers in training situations
  • Keeps abreast of Salvation Army policies and procedures, current developments in accounting and auditing professions, and changes in local, state, and federal laws, as applicable
  • Assists in monitoring and following up on audit results and management’s corrective action plans
  • Assist Smartdata Program Administrator with regular review and approval of Smartdata (corporate credit card data) transactions as needed
  • Vehicle use logs - Collect, audit and prepare taxable benefit reporting for THQ payroll team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3-5 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of audit procedures including planning, techniques, testing and sampling methods involved in conducting audits or equivalent experience.
  • Working toward a professional certification such as CPA or CIA is a plus.
