Position Overview:
This Youth & Family Ministries Coordinator will function as part of the Harrisburg Ministry Team and will invest oneself in the lives of young people and their families, developing and maintain relational ministry
opportunities. To conduct an ongoing and aggressive evangelical ministry with the specific purpose of introducing Children and their families to Jesus Christ. To provide an environment and ministry opportunities in which
children, teens, and young adults can grow and mature in their faith and grow into a walk of Holiness.
Description of Position:
The Youth & Family Ministries Coordinator provides visionary leadership for all children's, teen, young adult, and family ministries at The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region Corps. This individual develops and leads Christ-centered programs that foster spiritual growth, discipleship, outreach, and family engagement while building meaningful relationships throughout the community. The role includes overseeing youth ministries, music and arts, recreation, nursery operations, volunteer leadership, and evangelistic programming, with the goal of connecting individuals and families to the life of the church.
Working as part of the ministry leadership team, the coordinator collaborates across all departments, participates in community outreach and Salvation Army events, supports Sunday worship and Christian education, and helps advance the overall mission of The Salvation Army through compassionate service, intentional discipleship, and excellence in ministry.
This is a ministry position requiring a mature and active Christian faith that is consistent with the doctrines and mission of The Salvation Army. The successful candidate must demonstrate Christ-like character, actively participate in the worship and ministry life of The Salvation Army, and serve as a positive Christian role model while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and personal conduct.
