SUPERVISES:            Feeding Program Staff                                      

 

STATUS:                     Non-Exempt                            

 

SCHEDULE:               Full-Time

 

FUNCTION:    This position is responsible for Emergency Assistance Services at the Portsmouth Worship and Service Center location.  Services performed by this position include assessing the basic needs of low-income individuals and families, providing assistance in the form of food, financial assistance, vouchers for in-kind items such as clothing and furniture, and linking participants to services that will help stabilize their crisis.  This position will conduct and/or assist with registration for seasonal programs and all stabilization courses offered by the Emergency Assistance program. This position will work in harmony with the Corps Officer to carry out The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field or at least 2 years experience in a service setting. 
  2. Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.                                
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license and able to drive a 12-passenger van.
  4. Must have Servsafe manager qualification (can be obtained after hire)
