Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Assisting in the daily social service operations of The Salvation Army

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.  

  1. Responsible for all food services to clients including:
    • Processing clients for social service assistance
    • Providing food and other supplies to clients with proper identification
    • Packing pantry bags and lunch bags daily
  2. Maintain a clean, well-stocked and organized pantry (including refrigerator, freezer, shelves and table)
  3. Assist with placing orders with the Second Harvest Food Bank
  4. Receive food truck deliveries and put away inventory
  5. Update client information in SA Inform and Pantry Trak databases
  6. Set up appointments with clients and assist them with funding for rent and utilities when available
  7. Distribute diapers through the Diaper Bank Program and input data into social services
  8. Record all gifts in kind (GIK)
  9. Serve as a referral service for clients seeking resources that may not be available at The Salvation Army
  10. Answer and return phone calls
  11. File, print, scan, fax, type and file various documents
  12. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly office space and work area(s)
  13. Assist with Christmas applications for clients, assist in packing food baskets and Angel Tree gifts, Christmas Intake, in addition to recording data of Sam’s Club and Walmart Angel Tree Toys
  14. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Corp Officers

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. Basic knowledge of computer skills.
  2. Compliance of keeping to a schedule.
  3. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team atmosphere.
  4. Flexibility and patience, compassion for people.
  5. Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  6. Must have a current driver’s license.
