Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

 

Responsible for managing the front office operations and administrative needs for the Elyria Corps.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General office duties include, but not limited to answering phones, transferring, and taking messages for other staff members, making copies, data entry scanning documents, and filing office paperwork.
  • See that all visitors, clientele, and guests are treated in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Responsible for all general intake for all Social Service programs including, but not limited to the food pantry, emergency assistance, and seasonal assistance. Making necessary appointments for services for the Social Service Caseworker.
  • Observe confidentiality of clientele requiring the service of The Salvation Army.
  • Assist with any necessary correspondence for Corps programming and services.
  • Receive and receipt of donations (monetary and gifts-in-kind) and handle in accordance with Salvation Army policy.
  • Assist with compiling and remitting Corps monthly statistics in a timely manner.
  • Assist staff during special events such as registration for special programs, event support, and special distributions.
  • Assist with all seasonal activities and programs including but not limited to: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and Back-To-School distributions, and other special community events.
  • Work as a ministry team member to address and refer all spiritual needs to Corps Officers, and/or Youth Outreach coordinator.
  • Keep up to date with The Salvation Army KeepSafe protocols and Social Service training.
  • Maintain client records by electronic database, or hard copy, as per Salvation Army policy and procedure.
  • Provide supervision and paperwork support for Community Service workers when the Community Program Director is not available.
  • To be an authorized driver for the Salvation Army of Elyria for the purpose of programming, donation pick-ups, transportation, or any other request that is deemed necessary by the Corps Officers.
  • Represent The Salvation Army and programs with high degree of professionalism.
  • To perform any other responsibility, task, or activity as determined necessary by the Corps Officers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Giving direction and assistance to volunteers, community service workers as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associate’s Degree and State of Ohio Work License-SWA or BSW preferred

 

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Clean BCI background check
  • Ohio State driver’s license
