SCHEDULE:             Full-Time

FUNCTION: The HR Coordinator will ensure that all human resource (HR) operations are carried out smoothly and effectively. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for developing HR strategies for the Kroc Center and providing sound advice to the Business Administrator and Kroc Administrators on all related subjects.  The goal is to ensure that all HR needs of the company are being met and are aligned with all business objectives.

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

  • Supervises and coordinates all Human Resource functions for the Dayton Area Command
    • Oversees all personnel practices including hiring, disciplining, and terminating and general HR support, under the direction of and coordination with the Business Administrator and Kroc Administrators.
      • Hiring
        • Recruit qualified candidates using internal/external job boards for all open positions at the Kroc Center
        • Complete state background checks
        • Present qualified candidates to the department Managers for their review
        • Schedule and facilitate all interviews
        • Handle follow up correspondence to candidates
        • Develop and maintain relationships with local recruiting agencies
        • Develop and deploy “on boarding” process for all newly hired employees
      • Disciplinary Actions/Terminations
        • Provides coaching, counseling, and guidance to all supervisors to address all disciplinary actions
        • Coordinate with DHQ all steps leading up to terminations
        • Ensure that all TSA policies and procedures are being adhered to by all
      • Creates job descriptions for new positions and submits all Conceptual Approval forms to DHQ
      • Administers all Federal Medical Leave Act requests and Short-Term Disability Requests locally. Coordinates all paperwork with DHQ.
      • Maintain all paper employee files as well as a variety of employee databases: TSA, Manpower, MVR, Training, Certifications
      • Ensures compliance with I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits all I-9 Forms
      • Prepare monthly status report for Senior Executive Team, has regular “touch base” meetings as needed.
      • Prepare and submit various annual reports to DHQ as requested.
      • Stay apprised and up to date with federal, state, and local Department of Labor laws, rules, guidelines.

 

  • Responsible for the dissemination of personnel information as directed by The Salvation Army
    • Create and maintain local Policy and Procedures Manual adhering to all TSA guidelines, making this available to all employees
    • Coordinate all employee communications for Business Manager and Kroc Administrators
    • Coordinate the annual employee benefits enrollment period as well as any updates throughout the year.

 

  • Coordinates and is responsible to see that all personnel evaluations/reviews are conducted as prescribed by The Salvation Army personnel practices
    • Annually review all job descriptions with Department Managers to ensure each position is accurately reflected in the requirements
    • Assist all Supervisors and Department Managers in the completion of the annual reviews and all interim reviews
    • Process all required TSA documentation in a timely manner.
    • Creates and maintains a salary grid for all positions at the Kroc Center

 

  • Develop and administer leadership training, professional development and job skill training as needed
    • Implement Five Shield Supervisor Training Program
    • Implement Five Shield Staff Training Program
    • Conducts monthly leadership/development/training during Logistic meeting.
    • Coordinate all mandatory training sessions to include KeepSafe and all other training and certifications

 

  • Reviews all Time Away Requests.
    • Enters all time exceptions into UKG system
    • Reviews all time entries for errors each pay period

 

  • Provide HR support for all employees in a professional and confidential manner.
    • Acts as an employee relations specialist

 

  • Project Supervisor – at times will be put in charge of the implementation of various specific major projects – during these projects, will be in charge of other staff that they are not normally in charge of, this could include office managers, marketing personnel, etc.

 

  • Assists Business Administrator in the areas of fundraising as directed
    • Will assist with a variety of large and campus wide events
    • Assist with the Red Kettle program during the months of November and December.
    • All other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Business Administrator and or the Dayton Area Kroc Center Administrator
    • Attend group meetings such as Logistic and Executive

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources
  • Minimum of five years of management experience preferably in Human Resources
  • Strong creative and communication skills
  • Experience in managing staff
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Experience in networking with others
  • Able to multi-task and meet hard deadlines
  • Able to work in a team environment
