Overview

The Salvation Army EastView Residence is an Independent Senior Living facility located in the East Harlem section of Manhattan. Residents are provided with living accommodations in studio and one-bedroom units in a modern building facility completed in 2019.

 

The Salvation Army EastView Residence is seeking a friendly, outgoing and professional individual responsible for front desk reception duties, answering and directing calls, delivering messages, greeting guests and performing the responsibilities noted.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and distribute mail. Process packages
  • Send and Receive Faxes charging the appropriate fee as applicable
  • Answer and transfer phone calls
  • Handle requests for maintenance and repair work orders
  • Prepare and replace access room cards for residents
  • Maintain records lists and rosters up to date
  • Assist in filing and record-keeping
  • Assist with Marketing duties as needed
  • Make copies for staff and residents charging the appropriate fee as applicable
  • Perform clerical and other duties as assigned by management
  • Communicate with security personnel any disturbances requiring intervention, and notify management of any situations requiring their intervention
  • Call 911 in case of any emergencies
  • Assist with digital and printed notices as required
  • Keep track of residents’ overnight visitors including arrival and departure dates
  • Maintain “Informed Consent and Waiver of Liability” Forms for residents participating in fitness activities and programs
  • Be the center of information assisting residents as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High level of professionalism and personal standard of a positive attitude, behavior and appearance
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and provide outstanding service with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly
  • Be sensitive to resident needs and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Able to prioritize, organize, problem solve and meet deadlines and goals
  • Able to deal with emergencies calmly and effectively
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One-year experience in a receptionist/customer service-related position
  • Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others
  • Must possess strong work ethics, honesty and integrity
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Must have proficiency in Word, Excel and in designing printed and digital material
