SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Anew Center Assistant Program Director exists to assist the Corps Commanding Officers and the Anew Center Program Director in administering the Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Services Program of The Salvation Army for all of Chautauqua County.
The Anew Center Assistant Program Director is responsible for helping with the oversight, administration, and development of all Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Services including Residential and Non-Residential Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Will have administrative responsibility for the operation of the following specific program areas:
o Residential and Non-Residential Domestic Violence Program.
o Rape Crisis/Sexual Assault Program.
o Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Counseling Services, including the Children & Family Outreach Program.
o Prevention Education & Outreach Services.
o Supervised Visitation Program
• Will supervise the following personnel directly and/or indirectly to include evaluation and recommendation for hiring appropriate candidates:
o All shelter staff including Shelter Manager, Case Managers, Crisis & Services Advocates, On-Call Crisis & Services Advocates, Custodian, Housekeeper, Cook.
o All Non-Residential Staff including Prevention Educator, Non-Residential Case Managers, Children & Family Outreach Program staff, Facilitator, Family Resource Coordinator and Specialists.
• Will write Request for Proposals for funding for the Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Program
• Will negotiate the finalization of contracts and renewal of contracts with Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Program funding sources.
• Will maintain all regulatory requirements for licensure and re-certification of facilities and/or programs as required.
• Responsible for preparation and revision of procedural manuals in compliance with The Salvation Army Policy and State and County funding policies.
• Will coordinate the response team schedule for the Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Program.
• Will monitor scheduling of all program staff to assure coverage for the 24-hour hotline and other program services.
• Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to all funding agencies.
• Responsible for monitoring the orientation and training, including facilitation of the NYS DOH Rape Crisis training, of all Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis Program staff, including Rape Crisis Advocates and Volunteers.
• Will be the designated Rape Crisis Coordinator as required by DOH.
• Responsible for keeping accurate and updated records, submitting reports and statistics as required by The Salvation Army and in compliance with other funding sources.
• Assure compliance with all fire and safety procedures.
Community and Agency Relationships: The Anew Center Assistant Program Director will represent The Salvation Army under the direct supervision of the Corps Commanding Officers/Anew Center Program Director in the following areas:
• Will attend administrative staff meetings, budget meetings, and advisory board meetings as directed by the Corps Commanding Officers/Anew Center Program Director.
• Will work with the Advisory Board as assigned by the Corps Commanding Officers/Anew Center Program Director to provide program information and guidance in specific programs.
• Will serve as liaison for the Corps Commanding Officers/Anew Center Program Director to committees and sub-committees as assigned.
• Will act as a mandated reporter for The Salvation Army and report all incidents of suspected child abuse/neglect to child protection services mandatory reporter hotline.
• Attend Inter-agency and community meetings when appropriate.
• Public Speaking as requested.
SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree with five years related experience. Master’s degree preferred.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and have some working knowledge of Access.
• Must be able to work within Microsoft Windows operating system environment and navigate the Internet.
