Position: Program Coordinator/Case Worker

Department: Philadelphia Tabernacle Corps

Availability of Position:  Right Now.
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Reporting Relationship: Corps Officer

Salary Grade: 74 Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

Description of Position:

  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and lead all aspects of the Corps comprehensive emergency social services, including, but not limited to, client interviews and evaluations, food and in-kind distributions, food pantry management, and information and referrals.
  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and lead the Corps seasonal Thanksgiving and Christmas community social service outreach,
  • including, but not limited to, publicity, applications, TSSAM database management, volunteer recruitment and oversight, and distribution.
  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and lead the weekly El Rincon Caribeno (senior citizen group) program, including, but not limited
  • to, creating the monthly calendar, program activities, meal organization, and devotional time.
  • Manage and input into the Service Point statistical database, ensuring all information is correct and input within the established time frame.
  • Compile and maintain timely, orderly, comprehensive case records and accurate NSS statistical reports, as well as submit
  • required reports on time.
  • Prepare and distribute program-related fliers.
  • Secure and oversee volunteers within the social service depamnent.
  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding client conversations, files (records), rep01ts, financial resources, and all other data relating to people served by The Salvation Army.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various social service agencies in the community, as well as work with these
  • agencies on behalf of Salvation Army clients, as appropriate. Represent The Salvation Army at community meetings, as requested.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments where social service type programs are being performed. Performs related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of a BA or BS in Social Work or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in the social services field.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of efficient administJ·ation.
  • Ability to work with professional and support staff, and volunteer personnel.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local area social service agencies and the public.
  • Ability to organize data and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Valid PA driver's license
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
