Seeking a Part Time Facilities Manager on our Elmira Corps Team

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for all aspects of the Facilities Department related to facility planning, maintenance and the work order system. Assignment requires a strong, hands-on approach in the performance of daily responsibilities. Responsible for assigning tasks, supervising and assisting workforce in the performance of daily work duties and performing other related work as required. Requires schedule flexibility to manage time sensitive needs across multiple facilities including after office hours, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides hands-on Management of day-to-day planning, maintenance and worker order activities.
• Assist in supervising, contractor, vendor and volunteering or other workforce production staff.
• Provide communication and coordination between workforce & programs
• Assist in maintaining improvement and inspection schedule to ensure facility health, safety, fire
and code compliance.
• Maintain Facilities preventive maintenance program.
• Assist with developing procedure and specifications for obtaining equipment & services while adhering to
• Salvation Army policies and procedure regarding requisitions, bids and approvals.
• Assist with new construction and major facility renovation project planning and construction.
• Support risk management and disaster services as may be required.
• Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrated understanding into daily responsibilities and participate in meeting the objectives of the Salvation Army Elmira Corps Strategic Plan

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Work requires at least five years of directly applicable experience including facility design,
operations and maintenance.
• Previous management and supervisory experience required.
• Work requirements are broad in scope requiring demonstrated skills in planning,
implementation and communication.
• Work requires strong oral and written communication and proficient computer skills.
• A valid Driver’s license that meets The Salvation insurance requirements preferred.
