Overview

Position: Lead Case Manager

Department: Red Shield Family Residence

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Monday through Friday, some evenings and weekends required

Reporting Relationship: Director of Emergency Housing

Salary and Grade: $58,000; 10E

Responsibilities

About the Eliza Shirley House, Eliza Shirley House Resolution Center & Red Shield Family Residence: The Salvation Army’s ESH and RSFR are a safe and welcoming emergency housing programs offering loving, respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental services to empower residents to strive towards self-sufficiency. The goal is to support individuals experiencing homelessness address immediate barriers to self sufficiency, identify and access longer term housing support, and resolve their immediate housing crisis.All family populations, including families with teenaged children, and single men with children are accepted.

 

Description of Position: The Lead Case Manager provides guidance in all aspects of case management that include technical assistance in Client Track and facilitation of the Clinical Team and SELF group. The Lead Case Manager  is responsible for client assessment, service plan development, regular contact with the families to assess progress and needs, provision of guidance and counseling to clients as needed, making referrals to social services not provided at the shelter, preparation of applications for housing, documentation of resident progress and of services, ensuring completion of required forms, staff consultation, and completion of all client track data input for residents. The Lead Case Manager is a part of the Leadership Team and supports communication and programming is consistent across both sites.  The Lead Case Manager is responsible for a rotating on-call schedule to respond to emergencies of the shelter program.

Qualifications

Requirements:          

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, or enrolled in MSW program.
  • Must be computer literate and skilled in Word and Excel. Must be able to negotiate the Internet.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Must have an understanding of and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of, and support the Mission of The Salvation Army and the Sanctuary Model
