Overview

The Divisional Worship & Arts Coordinator supports the Music & Creative Arts Departments by assisting with divisional event planning, administrative tasks, and worship arts instruction across the division. This role promotes and enhances worship services at the corps, regional, and divisional levels while collaborating closely with the Divisional Music and Creative Arts Directors. The coordinator must be a uniform-wearing Salvationist actively engaged in a local Corps, serving as a role model through commitment, tithing, and high moral standards. This position plays a key role in advancing The Salvation Army’s mission.

Responsibilities

  1. Support all corps in assessing and enhancing their quality of worship, with an intentional focus on Sunday worship by supporting them with worship program ideas and resources, introducing and encouraging various forms of expression.
  2. Assist in identifying, developing, and assisting leaders for voice, piano, guitar, drums, and bass to be used at the corps level or/and divisional level.
  3. Stay current with and implement Keep Safe training and policy and adhere to it in all areas of the job description.
  4. To participate and lead prayer, to teach/instruct in religious principles, and to be responsible for faith formation. To model and reflect Christian behavior.
  5. Support corps by teaching worship arts at least 1 or 2 nights a week and ensuring local leadership is trained to continue this ministry or develop worship/youth worship in two corps.
  6. Attend corps events in support of corps worship arts performances.
  7. Assist with Divisional Youth Music and Arts program.
  8. Lead the Divisional Youth & NEOSA worship team.
  9. Lead worship at divisional events as needed.
  10. Assist with planning and execution of Divisional Music & Arts Camp and Music & Arts Conservatories.
  11. Promote the use of live music and, where appropriate, worship videos (approved according to CCLI licensing).
  12. Actively participate in divisional events, including but not limited to Divisional Family Camp, Youth Councils, Star Search, Jr. Soldier Rallies, Music & Arts Camp and Conservatory, Women’s and Men’s Camp, and Divisional Rallies and gatherings.
  13. Attending and assisting with stage direction for divisional events as needed/appropriate.
  14. Support territorial events as requested and/or related to worship and creative arts.
  15. Actively recruit young people and adults (as appropriate) to participate in Music Camp, divisional Conservatory, Star Lake, TAM, MAP, NEOSA Dance/Drama/Timbrels, and Rose Bowl.
  16. Meet regularly with the Divisional Music Director & Creative Arts Director for strategic planning and information updates.
  17. Attend Divisional and Territorial events as requested.
  18. Participate as an active member of the Divisional Music Committee, Youth Commission; serve on other divisional committees and commissions as requested.
  19. Work within the established guidelines and budget restrictions for purchasing materials and running special events at corps and divisional levels
  20. Book venue for divisional music and arts events and hotels rooms for guests as directed.
  21. Assist with printing and organization of music and scripts for divisional groups.
  22. Assist with the Divisional Music Director & Creative Arts Director in Regional Music & Arts programs throughout the division as needed.
  23. Attending conferences and other events as requested and approved by the Divisional Program Secretary, Divisional Music Director & Divisional Creative Arts Director.
  24. Assist with promoting events and/or managing the Music & Arts social media pages.
  25. Assist with organizing, planning, and executing the Divisional Star Search event.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in performance music, arts, or related experience.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in music & arts performance and leading worship as well as administration experience.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
