Position: Corporate Engagement Manager

Location: EPA & DE Divisional Headquarters

Availability of Position: Immediate                                                                             

Schedule: Full-Time 40 hrs/week

Reporting Relationship Divisional Director of Corporate Engagement     

Salary and Grade: $65,000.00 per year; Exempt, Grade 13

Responsibilities

Position Overview:  

 

The function of the Divisional Corporate Engagement Manager (DCEM) is to support the creation and cultivation of relationships with corporations within the Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Division. Acting as an important facilitator between the development department and the corporate community, the DCEM will help manage a portfolio of corporations that can contribute resources to achieve established annual goals and support the mission and vision of The Salvation Army.

 

Description of Position:             

  • Work closely with the Director of Corporate Engagement (DCE) to build and strengthen relationships with top executives and CEOs and employee groups throughout the Division’s geographic region and present The Salvation Army’s mission and programs to them through office visits, correspondence, conversations, and Salvation Army facility tours.
  • Maintain portfolio of donors and track progress to annual goals for each account.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of all existing corporate contacts and partnerships and track all actions with these contacts in the donor database (Salesforce).
  • Research and identify volunteer programs for major corporations. In conjunction with Salvation Army facilities and programs, facilitate volunteer opportunities through these corporate partnerships.
  • Research and identify gifts-in-kind for programs and clients from corporations, as well as coordinate closely with corps, service extensions and program staff to ensure appropriateness of all donations.
  • Identify corporate foundations and develop strategies with DCE on most efficient approach to the foundation for funding.
  • Support Corps in editing process and submission of funding proposals and reporting for local corporate foundations.
  • Work with Divisional media team to highlight company’s philanthropic partnerships with The Salvation Army and create necessary collateral.
  • Work with corps, service extensions, and corporate partners to enhance Christmas Kettles through organization of contact lists and solicitation of corporate volunteers.
  • When relevant, work with other departments such as Legal and Finance to help coordinate and execute corporate donations and activities.
  • Develop and manage a process which identifies the needs of The Army and matches those needs to corporate foundation funding opportunities.
  • Identify corporate foundations whose objectives are compatible with the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Oversee a Grants Calendar and the submission of proposals to corporate foundations compatible with the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Help to enhance the knowledge of Corps Officers and Program Directors in the areas of proposal writing, project start up, and report preparation.
  • Oversee the review of all corporate grants submitted to external funders before requests are submitted to the Contracts Database.
  • Perform related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:                                                  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or related work experience and specialized training.
  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, community building, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must be extremely organized and able to manage a busy schedule of activities in a timely manner.
  • Must be proficient on computers and especially in managing data, with strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of CRM, Salesforce, Classy, Microsoft Word and Excel software is preferable (otherwise must be trained).
  • Must have very strong research skills.
  • Must have strong communication and writing skills.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
