Overview

Position: Resident Advisor

Department: Wilkes-Barre Corps Shelter Program                                                      

Availability of Position: ASAP                     

Schedule: PT                    

Reporting Relationship: Program Director/Corps Officers     

Salary Grade: 72

Responsibilities

Description of Position:          

The Resident Advisor will assist the residents in fulfilling their day-to-day activities and responsibilities of the program.  Responsible for the condition of the house, safety, enforcing rules, cleaning, general office, clerical and phone work, meal preparation and service, as well as reporting on residents’ progress, incidents, and successes, and communicating these to Case Management staff and Corps Officers.

Qualifications

Requirements:                        

  • A high school diploma or GED and at least two (2) years working with people.
  •  Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
