Overview

The Salvation Army’s Lawrence Corps., is hiring a Receptionist and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:

Location: Lawrence, MA

Pay Range: $16 per hour

                    25 hours per week

 

 

Maintain the image of The Salvation Army to the public and clients through assigned responsibilities for greeting and directing all visitors, either in person or on the phone.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education Requirements:

 

High School Diploma

 

Work Experience:

 

One to two years' experience preferred

 

Other Qualifications:

 

Professional demeanor and excellent phone skills

Must be bilingual (Spanish and English)

a) Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or occasional continuous basis.

b) Grasp, push, pull objects such as reference materials, files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.

c) Ability to load and to change settings, devices, fixtures, on various equipment used in and around an office environment

d) Operate various other office equipment including personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and scanning equipment.

e) Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.

f) Ability to travel throughout the Division via car, train, or airplane.

g) Ability to be creative, original, intuitive, and perceptive.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

a) Answer phone calls in a courteous manner and properly route all phone calls and taking messages when appropriate

b) Verify appointments of visitors and admit only authorized people.

c) Monitor foot traffic and guide individuals to proper locations within the building

d) Maintain files of general Corps business and keep reception are in good order

e) Maintain office supply inventory and process orders as requested.

f) Sort and route all incoming mail and process all outgoing mail

g) Sign for deliveries and make sure the receiving individual is notified

h) Assist with clerical duties as requested – printing, typing, copying, filing, stamping, etc

i) Refer people with spiritual needs to The Salvation Army officer.

j) Perform other related duties as requested
