Position: Events & Development Coordinator

Department: East Stroudsburg Corps

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Part-time Plus up to 29 hours weekly; Varies per event schedule

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Development Director/ Corps Officers

Salary and Grade: $18.00 per hour; Non-exempt, 74

Responsibilities

 Position Overview:

  • Oversee administration needs of CRD director; Assist with events

Description of Position: 

  • Oversee all administrative aspects of, and assist with planning and execution of fund-raising events.  This shall include planning, venues, staffing, reporting, communications, sponsorships, participants, attendant lists, execution on day of event, and recap after event.  This shall also include development and management of events committees, including rosters, calendars, and meetings.
  • Process pledges, payments, gifts, invoices, and related communications, in cooperations with Office Manager.
  • Oversee development of graphics, printed products, and online systems used for fundraising events.
  • Provide information related to fundraising progress for presentation to funders, Advisory Board, & Corps Council.
  • Represent the Corps at various community events, as approved and determined appropriate.
  • Assist with government grant proposals and reports, as appropriate.
  • Work with corps officers and assigned personnel to provide oversight to the annual Red Kettle campaign, including locations, workers, driving, counting/deposits, and record-keeping.
  • Communicate with Community Relations & Development Director and Corps Officers via email or in-person regarding any concerns.

Qualifications

Requirements:   

  • High school graduate; some college or professional fund-raising experience required.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, utilizing Word for correspondence and policy documents, Excel for budget tracking and reporting, and Outlook for efficient scheduling and communication coordination."
  • Good administrative and organizational skills along with good oral and written communication skills.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must possess an understanding of and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
