The Sorting Room Supervisor oversees the Thrift Store clerks and volunteers while managing the sorting room.
Responsibilities
Efficiently utilize employees under your Train and cross train all personnel to prepare them for any task assigned.
Ensure that all merchandise is sorted, tagged, and priced according to (tag fixed to sleeve or belt area of garment; color coded tags are correct for the given week and dated accordingly, etc.)
Responsible for quality control and to ensure production of a sales floor items to keep stock full on
Maintain records – attendance, work schedules, production output, storage, quality,
Conduct regular evaluations of Sorting Room personnel, identifying performance strengths and areas for improvement. Recommend training as necessary.
Responsible for the care and proper use of equipment assigned to your area and to ensure a clean and safe work environment; processing area, storage area, and break area. Create and post a clean-up schedule, dividing duties equally among personnel. Report unsafe conditions to Store Manager.
Maintain inventory of necessary supplies (tags, staples, stapling machines, pliers, pricing guns, ), keeping in mind some of these supplies take days or weeks to receive.
Responsible for the collection and security of all jewelry, antiques, collectibles and other items of value that are processed through the sorting No merchandise is to be taken, given or loaned, except by the Corps Officer in communication with the Store Manager.
Efficiently utilize employees and volunteers assigned to the sorting Train and cross train employees and volunteers to be prepared for any task assigned.
Other duties as may be assigned by Store Manager and/or Corps
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of related experience.
