Location: Advancement Department (Hartford, CT)

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Scope of Position: Play an integral role in assisting the Divisional Donor Relations Director (DDRD).

Responsibilities

  • Act on behalf of DDRD with donors and internal staff when DDRD is not in the office.
  • Assist and participate in Advancement team projects and special events.
  • Assist with stewardship efforts of select donors by building relationships via personalized mail, email communications, phone calls, and ongoing written contact.
  • Assist with the management of a major donor caseload.
  • Conduct donor research.
  • Conduct system reports from CRM to facilitate development efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies that nurture donor loyalty and foster personal relationships with select mid-level donors. Track all efforts and activities in the database.
  • Facilitate donor visits with DDRD.
  • Maintain accurate donor records.
  • Maintain contact with external financial institutions to support donor transactions.
  • Perform general office procedures.
  • Produce project proposals and major gift collateral material.
  • Report monthly major gift production statistics.
  • Resolve discrepancies and obtain further information for incomplete and missing donor details by reviewing, researching, and correcting Salesforce donor records.
  • Serve as the primary contact for incoming phone calls and email requests from select donors, solicit feedback, and track responses in the database.
  • Support multi-channel donor communications.
  • Work collaboratively with the DDRD to develop short and long-term strategies.
  • Work with the Director of Advancement and DDRD to plan and implement William Booth Society mailings throughout the Division and track William Booth Society gifts.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and five years of relevant professional experience are required, and a college background is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Capable of providing the utmost confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Must complete all required training upon hire.
  • Must have interpersonal, computer, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software, notably Salesforce, is preferred.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license is required.
