Emergency Services Department has created a new Management opportunity within the Emergency & Practical Assistance Services, E/PAS Program.  The Supportive Housing Manager will report directly to the Director of E/PAS and is responsible for managing a Team of Case Managers under SHI & SSSHI resources.  This position was created due to the growth of families in need who are currently experiencing housing crisis here in Onondaga County.  They need our help and we need help leading this Team to success!  Salary is based on a combination of education and work related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day-to-day program operations of the Supportive Housing programs (SHI and SSSHI) to ensure that all specified funder requirements are being adhered to and achieved. 
  • Direction and supervision to SHI and SSSHI Case Managers and volunteers in line with agency mission, vision and goals.
  • Will train all SHI and SSSHI Case Managers to ensure requirements for documentation and OMH Supportive Housing requirements are being met.
  • Direct support to Case Managers through monthly Supervision, assistance on Home Visits, Crisis Intervention and interactions with Landlords as needed.
  • Responsible for File Review of both SHI and SSSHI programs, addressing any concerns with case files with each Case Manager on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure all OMH Supportive Housing Guidelines are being met in both the SHI and SSHI programs.
  • Assessment of eligibility for SHI and SSSHI programs, assigning caseloads and ensuring applicants are coming through the proper SPOA or SOS team referrals.  Attend all OMH meetings: Health High Priority Meeting, Forensic Meeting, Residential Provider Meeting, and others as assigned.
  • Brokerage and networking advocacy; coordinating service with other providers, agencies and programs, and making referrals for auxiliary services as needed.
  • Responsible for coverage in Case Manager’s absence.
  • Complete monthly reporting of services in CAIRS, TSA STATS, and quarterly reporting for OMH programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred, with at least 3 years of experience or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of community resources required.
  • Must have access to private transportation during work hours.
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.
  • Experience as a Manager supervising a team of professionals.
  • Must be able to meet in client’s homes, physically negotiate stairs, lift up to 40lbs. and perform all duties associated with job responsibilities.
