Overview

The Music & Arts Instructor plans and provides music and/or arts instruction to members & nonmembers of the
Kroc Center under the direction of the Performing Arts Manager (PAM), and, at times, coordinates with
community musical and arts partners, as well as other music and arts opportunities throughout the Kroc Center.
This position supports all Performing Arts Department events, including but not limited to; concerts, festivals,
recitals, competitions, camps, conservatory, and Sunday services, if need be.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction within the Kroc’s music and arts program. Assist with the promotion of the Kroc Center Performing Arts Ministries.  Assist with level appropriate music creation or acquisition for various music and arts programs at the Kroc Center.  Track and submit attendance sheets.  Instruct students in the proper maintenance and usage of equipment and other supplies.  Must be available to lead students onsite in the evenings 3 days a week.  Must be available to participate and attend all applicable music and arts concerts, including evenings and weekends.  Must be comfortable with group and individual instruction.  Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND at least one year formal music training and experience playing brass in a comparable setting OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be safety conscious. Must possess ability to provide excellent customer service. Must possess excellent program development skills. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English. Must be able to handle difficult situations/confrontations in a professional manner. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission Statements of The Salvation Army and the RJKCCC.
