Seeking a Part Time Youth Leader on our Corning Corps Team

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Kids Café Program was developed to provide a safe drug-free environment, academic help, and life skills training for school age children to become productive citizens in our community.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent the Salvation Army in accordance with the Eastern Territory Employee Manual.
• Supervision of children in accordance with OCFS regulations (Section 414)
• Implementation and supervision of those activities assigned by the Kids Café Program Director or Site Assistant.
• Complete and implement lesson plan for activities.
• Help children with homework.
• Monitor meals and teach appropriate table manners.
• Implementation of the Kids’ Café Program Health Plan, including daily health check, basic first aid, and familiarity with the emergency procedures (according to the Kids Café Program Evacuation Plan and Child’s Medical Release form).
• Familiarity with Kids Café Program forms and the proper use of such forms (attendance sheets, Incident Report, Behavioral Support Plans, etc.) as well as policies included in the parent information handbook.
• Behavior management for children under your care.
• Responsibilities of a mandated reporter of NYS.
• Submission to the Staff Supervision Policy.
• Maintain cleanliness in areas designated for the children.
• Be available and flexible to help in other areas.
• Plan educational, recreational, and special event activities.
• Maintain inventory of materials and supplies for activities.
• Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Work well with school age children
• CPR certification
• Good communication skills to include verbal and written
• Good organizational skills
