Hours: Sunday 9:30am-1pm Only

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule: 4-hour shift

Work Location: In person: 736 West Main Street Lexington, Ky 40508

Responsibilities

Duties:
- Create a positive and nurturing environment that supports each child’s physical, social, and emotional development

- Provide care for children as needed: diaper changing, bottle feeding, restroom breaks

- Work with other nursery caregivers to maintain a safe and orderly environment and ensure that all security policies are followed.

-Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication to encourage children to participate appropriately.

-Answer questions parents may have or direct them to the Family Ministries Coordinator if necessary.

- Follow regulations regarding health, safety, and sanitation in the classroom

- Act as an “ambassador” of The Salvation Army by showing a warm, welcoming attitude towards families and their involvement in the life of the church.

- Assist with general housekeeping tasks to keep classrooms clean, trash, sweeping, etc. Ensure toys are cleaned and put away

- Understand and comply with city and state regulations

- Provide other services as required for the efficient functioning of The Salvation Army

Qualifications

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Patience and empathy when working with children of different abilities and backgrounds
