Position: Assistant Divisional Creative Arts Director     

Department: DHQ – Music and Creative Arts

Availability of Position: ASAP

Schedule: FT, 40+, some evening and weekends required

Reporting Relationship: Divisional Music and Creative Arts Director

Salary Grade: 11

Responsibilities

Description of Position:  

The purpose of the Assistant Divisional Creative Arts Director is to teach, train, and build corps music and arts ministries within the Pendel Division, with a focus on implementing Corps arts schools and/or regional gatheringsTo encourage Corps Officers and support them with resources for Sunday worshipTo help identify and train leaders for arts leadership positions within the Corps. Creative Arts in this context refers to Dance, Drama and/or Visual Arts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An active, uniformed Salvationist who will be a soldier at a Corps with the division. 
  • Strong Christian testimony of faith and holiness, as this is a ministry position. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a creative arts field is a minimum (dance, drama and/or visual arts), or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Strong background in one or more of the following fields an advantage: dance, drama, visual arts, creative writing, stage management, contemporary worship, piano, guitar, brass, percussion. 
  • Excellent teaching skills. Exhibits proven experience in corps creative arts program leadership, with willingness to work with both adults and children. 
  • Strong organization, communication, leadership, and team working skills. 
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a constantly changing environment. 
  • Must be able to adhere to project and work deadlines. 
  • Excellent computer skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook and Teams) required. Proficiency in Graphic design/video-editing software (Adobe/Capcut/Canva) an advantage. 
  • Valid PA or DE Driver’s license with willingness to travel (vehicle provided) 
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153, including the PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must possess an understanding of and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
