Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

 

The Bookkeeper will be under the direct supervision of the Orrville Service Center Director with over-sight from the Regional Field Manager and/or the Service Extension Department Director. The Bookkeeper will implement fiscal management protocols as needed when new programs become a part of the outreach of the Service Center. The bookkeeper will be responsible for writing checks, balancing checkbook, creating monthly reimbursement forms and creating finance reports for the Advisory Board to review.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.  

 

  1. Act as the treasurer:  create reimbursement forms, balance revolving fund, review all transactions, complete bank deposits, create monthly income and expense reports
  2. Review invoices, paperwork and documentation prepared for Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) to ensure accuracy
  3. Review monthly budget comparison prepared by DHQ to compare and record accounts posted
  4. Assist in preparation of yearly budget
  5. Prepare for annual audit and year end fiscal documentation
  6. Prepare statistical reporting, e.g. Orrville United Way, FreshTrak, Akron/Canton Food Bank, Salvation Army monthly reports.  Post activity in consumer database. (Microsoft Access and Excel)
  7. Assist in all seasonal assistance programs, including, but not limited to, Angel Tree, Community Food Drive, Back to School, Weekend Backpack Program, Kettles, Food Pantry ordering and Camp NEOSA
  8. Assist in all facets of fundraisers, including but not limited to, Spaghetti Supper, Memorial Golf Outing, Red Kettle Campaign
  9. Provide direct assistance to consumers seeking help from the Service Center
  10. Participate in the Service Center Finance Committee, providing financial insight and reports.
  11. Perform a variety of functions as assigned by the Service Center Director

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Have Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, and/or three years of job-related experience.
