Pay Rate: $75,000 per year, housing included
Schedule: weekends and nights will be required as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school or equivalent
- Technical school education in construction or building maintenance related to trade
- Related Licenses (Electrical, Plumbing, etc) preferred but not required
- At least five (5) years’ experience in maintenance or construction field
- 2-5 years supervisory experience and ability to delegate
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s license
- Must live on-site year-round (cost of housing is provided by The Salvation Army) which includes adhering to The Salvation Army’s Housing Agreement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding the upkeep and care of the equipment used for cleaning is required.
- Prior experience with grounds tools such as lawnmowers and weed whackers is required.
- Previous experience with carpentry, plumbing, construction, or engineering is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to manage time and have excellent attention to detail.
- must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsible for managing and maintaining the 100+ acre Wonderland Complex facilities, grounds, roads, buildings, and Quarters within Sharon. Emergencies that require immediate attention may arise, and the Property Manager must be prepared to assist with these emergencies promptly.
Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
- Secure approval for work requiring the services of an outside repairman, contractor, or service person.
- Routinely perform tours of inspection of all buildings and grounds, determining if repairs or safety hazards must be addressed, then prioritize and proceed in completing the tasks required to ensure that the Wonderland Complex and all its facilities and systems are always proper and operational.
- Develop seasonal schedules for the year-round maintenance of the Wonderland Complex in conjunction with the Divisional Property Director.
- Ensure that all Wonderland Complex equipment and systems, including the plumbing, electrical, and septic systems, are inspected, serviced, and are operational.
- Ensure that all year-round facilities are ready for use
- Ensure that the Camp adheres to all local, State & Federal sanitation, building codes, fire safety codes, (EPA, Town of Sharon Wetlands Commission, Fire Department, etc.)
- Maintain all motorized vehicles, equipment, and tools in an organized and safe working condition
- Submit requisitions and price estimates for projects or items consisting of more than $1,500 to supervisor for approval
- Provide and maintain inventory of all maintenance equipment and supplies
- Ensure the Complex property and facilities are ready to receive pre-camp staff and campers in the spring.
- Oversee and train the maintenance staff to assist in completing daily maintenance and repair needs.
- Oversee outside vendors scheduled to service Complex (i.e. wastewater, septic, pest control, etc.)
- Ensure the Complex is adequately winterized and closed for the non-camp season.
- Provide snow removal as necessary for the Wonderland complex and Officer Quarters in Sharon, MA
- Perform minor repairs and lawncare as needed for Officer quarters in Sharon, MA
- Oversee the general cleaning and set-up in preparation for all outside or Divisional groups.
- Assist all groups with routine needs and serve as the representative for The Salvation Army in handling all deliveries, pick-ups, and the like.
- Record all needed repairs, report all repairs to the Divisional Property Director and follow up as needed.
- Maintain the security of the Wonderland Complex property, particularly during limited occupancy.
