Overview

The primary role of this position is to establish and grow corporate relationships within Cuyahoga County to support the mission of The Salvation Army.  The Manager of Corporate Engagement is responsible for building a caseload of 100 corporate donors and providing ongoing stewardship with an emphasis on corporate prospecting and securing gifts of $10,000 or higher.

Responsibilities

1.      Partner with the Director of Development to develop and manage a corporate giving strategy with measurable outcomes and a yearly revenue goal.

2.      Identify, cultivate, and strengthen relationships to develop and manage a caseload of 100 corporations with an emphasis on annual gifts of $10,000 or more along with special campaigns and required gifts of five- and six-figures.

3.      Secure sponsorships for campaigns, events, or designated activities.

4.      Identify corporate foundations and strategize or partner with the divisional grants team in writing, editing, and submitting proposals and reports in conformance with grantor and Salvation Army guidelines.

5.      Identify and manage matching corporate giving opportunities.

6.      Oversee and grow employee workplace giving programs.

7.      Participate in Advisory Board meetings and committees assigned by the Director of Development.

8.      Participate in and assist with meetings and events that may be scheduled outside of regular work hours.

9.      Serve as the staff liaison to the Greater Cleveland Echelon chapter.  This role includes coordinating the financial transactions and reports with Greater Cleveland Finance representative and communication with Territorial Headquarters.

10.   Coordinate corporate volunteer programs and opportunities with the Operations Manager and Development Coordinator.

11.   Work with the Operations Manager to coordinate and support activities and programs during Christmas to include: working with volunteers; toy collection and distribution; and working at the Christmas warehouse when needed.

12.   Coordinate, in conjunction with GCAS development department the Annual Civic Luncheon, including: script; presentations; and sponsorships.

13.   Maintain current and accurate reporting and actions in Salesforce.

14.   Work with the territorial and/or divisional development department(s) to maximize public relations opportunities with corporate partners. 

Qualifications

  • Effective interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communications
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Self-starter that requires minimal supervision
  • High level of discretion
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must have an understanding and appreciation for the mission of The Salvation Army
