Overview

The Salvation Army’s Plymouth Corp. is hiring a Receptionist & Volunteer Coordinator and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:

Location: Plymouth, MA

Pay Range: $15 per hour

                    20 hours per week

 

The Receptionist and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing front desk operations, providing administrative support, and coordinating volunteer activities to ensure efficient and welcoming service at the Plymouth Corps.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Experience in volunteer coordination or related fields is a plus.
  • A friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Experience in roles requiring clear communication with clients or team members is beneficial.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail

 

Reception & Administrative Support:

 

  1. Greet visitors and clients warmly and direct them appropriately.
  2. Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and other communication.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  4. Handle correspondence and document filing.
  5. Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings.
  6. Maintain office supply inventory and order as needed.
  7. Attend meetings and take minutes as directed
  8. Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office applications – Word, PowerPoint Excel.
  9. Perform clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, filing, typing and taking minutes as requested.

 

Volunteer Coordination:

 

  1. Recruit and ensure all volunteer paperwork is completed and submit to DHQ Human Resources. Volunteers cannot begin working until background checks have cleared.
  2. Act as a point of contact between staff and volunteers.
  3. Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies.
  4. Coordinate volunteer activities and schedules.
  5. Ensure volunteers are trained, supported, and recognized.
  6. Maintain accurate records of volunteer information and hours.
  7. Prepare and present regular reports on volunteer activities.
  8. Communicate volunteer needs and opportunities to the community.
