Overview

Seeking a Part Time Pantry Coordinator/Office Assistant to join our Rome Corps

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To provide services to the community through The Salvation Army’s Food Pantry service, and give support to the Corps Officers with administrative functions.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain inventory of food and other pantry items to complete monthly ordering, as approved by the corps officers, and to meet the FBCNY food order minimum standards point system.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory.
  • Communicate supply needs to the corps officers for ordering instruction.  
  • Schedule all Food Pantry appointments of phone calls and walk-in inquiries.
  • Return calls for the Food Pantry, and other miscellaneous inquiries as assigned by the corps officers.
  • Greet and direct people visiting the office during business hours.
  • Provide referrals to other agencies as appropriate.
  • Pick up and deliver mail at Post Office as needed.
  • Assist officers in processing weekly income.
  • Scan and post bills to OneDrive once approved by Corps Officer.
  • Deposit all income as needed and requested by officers.

 

Other Duties:   Although these duties provide a concise description of responsibilities for this position, the corps officers may assign additional duties as unexpected needs arise. Additional duties must be communicated by the officer to the employee to be considered part of their paid duties.

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.

 

·        Excellent communication and organizational skills

·        Possess a high level of professionalism and cultural competence with ability to communicate with all levels of staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and members of the public

·        Well organized, efficient, and able to multi-task

·        Skilled with computer office programs – MS Office, Outlook etc.

·        Valid driver’s license that meets Salvation Army insurance requirements
