Overview

 

Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 20 hours/week, 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, during the school year (about 36 weeks).  Full-time availability for 8 weeks in the summer, M-F, 9:00-4:00.

Job Focus:  This position provides assistance with academic instruction, program implementation, and support with supervision of program participants at The Salvation Army’s 2 Learning Center locations operation.

Salary:$15.00 per hour

Qualifications

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army’s Mission
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous work or volunteer experience with elementary age children required
  • A strong operational knowledge of Internet and Web-related technologies; especially Google and web-conferencing platforms.
  • Ability to work well with children and parents
  • Strong work ethic
  • Patient and energetic
  • Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Interest in or pursuing a degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology or Child Development preferred
  • Ability to maintain ODJFS standards for employees and program operation if applicable
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards (if driving is a requirement)
