Responsibilities
- General maintenance of all Salvation Army property including parking lot areas; General building upkeep; will be following a check list for duties; ability to use cleaning tools and equipment; Ability to maintain facility in a clean environment
- Cooperates in total staff effort designed to improve the center’s service
- Receiving of all deliveries and ensuring that they are securely packed and covered in Storage room.
- After packing away delivered items in pantry and storage area, make sure that all spills are swept and mopped.
- Perform minor repairs such as ceiling, tile changing, stopping of leaks wherever required, etc.
- Clean and maintain in front of building by keeping area clean at all times.
- Donation pick up if necessary, driving the corps 12 passenger van
- Order supplies given in written form to the Corps Officer for approval, who then passes it on for the Secretary to complete; Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand and as needed.
- Following a checklist of expected work and providing it to Corps Officers and building Administrator for approval; Ability to read and write in order to follow written work schedules.
- Must have basic computer skills – email, ability to do online training
- Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team
- Maintain cooperative relationships with other staff, children, parents and visitors to the center.
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years work experience in various handyman/odd jobs. (Related experience in general custodial duties, such as cleaning, repairing and painting.)
- Valid State Driver’s License
