Responsibilities

  • General maintenance of all Salvation Army property including parking lot areas; General building upkeep; will be following a check list for duties; ability to use cleaning tools and equipment; Ability to maintain facility in a clean environment
  • Cooperates in total staff effort designed to improve the center’s service
  • Receiving of all deliveries and ensuring that they are securely packed and covered in Storage room.
  • After packing away delivered items in pantry and storage area, make sure that all spills are swept and mopped.
  • Perform minor repairs such as ceiling, tile changing, stopping of leaks wherever required, etc.
  • Clean and maintain in front of building by keeping area clean at all times.
  • Donation pick up if necessary, driving the corps 12 passenger van
  • Order supplies given in written form to the Corps Officer for approval, who then passes it on for the Secretary to complete; Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand and as needed.
  • Following a checklist of expected work and providing it to Corps Officers and building Administrator for approval; Ability to read and write in order to follow written work schedules.
  • Must have basic computer skills – email, ability to do online training
  • Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with other staff, children, parents and visitors to the center.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years work experience in various handyman/odd jobs. (Related experience in general custodial duties, such as cleaning, repairing and painting.)
  • Valid State Driver’s License
