Overview

Office Location: Lexington, Ky

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Shift: Day shift (Monday-Friday 9:00AM-4:30PM, Occasional evenings & weekends)

Job Focus:

Responsible for promoting The Salvation Army’s mission and programs in the community, implementing, and sustaining the Echelon Program, engaging with key community partners, organization of special events via Echelon, securing corporate sponsorships as needed, and assisting in the overall fundraising initiatives of The Salvation Army. 

Responsibilities

Echelon:

-Serve as Lead Staff for the Echelon Young Professionals Program

-Meet with community leaders & organizations to promote the program

-Recruit Echelon Members

-Plan, schedule, & lead monthly engagement activities

-Ensure all Echelon groups execute an annual fundraising initiative (2025)

-Provide direct support to said fundraising initiatives

Special Events & Promotions:

-Oversee the planning of a new event in January 2025

-Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of the Annual Volunteer Reception (April)
-Oversee Donut Days planning, promotion, and related activities (June)

-Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of the Annual Red Kettle Kickoff Luncheon (November)

-Secure sponsorship for special events as needed

-Secure in-kind donations for special events as needed

LemonAiD Days:

-Sustain and grow the LemonAid Days Program in Central Kentucky

-Meet with community leaders and organizations to promote the pgroam

-Serve as the CKAS staff lead for the online campaign

-Ensure participants are communicated with on a regular basis

-Oversee the LemonAiD Days Kickoff and LemonAiD Days Grand Finale

-Secure sponsorships for LemonAiD Days

-Secure in-kind donations as needed

-Provide direct support to said fundraising initiative

Management of Targeted Accounts:

-Manage a portfolio of 10-20 corporate accounts for revenue development and growth ($2,500 in annual revenue or more)

-Provide a targeted plan of action for each account which includes cultivation, volunteerism, and revenue generation

-Serve as these account’s primary point of contact for all items related to The Salvation Army

Community Relations:

-Represent The Salvation Army on local boards, Chambers of Commerce, and committees

-Collaborate with partner agencies on behalf of The Salvation Army

Community Relations & Development Team Responsibilities:

-Assist the Community Relations & Development Coordinator as needed with contacts that may include personal visits, written thank you correspondence, and mail/electronic solicitations

-Attend monthly Community Relations & Development Team Meetings

-Attend weekly Community Relations & Development Meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience and/or strong interest in fundraising.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.
  • Ability to collaborate on complex social issues within families and communities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, social media, and fundraising software.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • A passion for The Salvation Army’s mission.
