- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of work experience in social services, food pantry, or related field is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathetic listening.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize responsibilities and function independently.
- Able to maintain ethical conduct in accordance with organizational policy and conduct business in a manner consistent with the organization's mission, values, and policies.
- Able to work without close supervision on assigned duties and be willing to seek and accept supervision as needed.
- Demonstrate the ability to engage with diverse populations and sensitivity to issues related to poverty and the barriers faced by low-income people.
- Must have a high energy level, solid work ethic, and the ability to respond to changing conditions.
- Must function well independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in spoken and written English. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Unquestioned confidentiality with sensitive financial and personal information.
- Valid CT Driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and the Internet.
