Overview

The Receptionist/Staff Aide is the first point of contact for The Salvation Army East Cleveland community center and plays an important role in maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment for our clients. The ideal candidate must be experienced in administrative services, have exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette and be sensitive to the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs of our clients – making full use of the Corps and community resources while adhering to the mission and vision of The Salvation Army. Rate of pay is $13/hour

Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities -  Greet clients and visitors in a pleasant manner, serve as the 'voice' of The Salvation Army, deal positively with outside vendors and donors, process all mail, perform administrative tasks as assigned.  Answer telephones appropriately and respond accordingly.  Maintain a neat and tidy work area.

Family Services - Assist Family Intake Worker with related duties (pantry, filing, data entry, appointment scheduling) when needed, to ensure smooth office operation., assist with client intake and case work for clients seeking fuel assistance.
Program Coordination - Participate in and support the implementation of special activities and events for the Corps as requested by the Corps Officer.

 

Qualifications

The candidate must have a HS Diploma or GED with 2 years of clerical experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must have practical experience in organizational management and can troubleshoot and perform well in stressful situations.
