Overview

The Salvation Army’s Springfield Corp. is hiring a Custodian and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:

Location: Springfield, MA

Pay Range: $18 - $20/hr

Hours: Monday – Thursday 9AM – 2PM (On-call for snow removal)

 

To do all that is necessary to keep the Salvation Army building and surrounding grounds neat, clean and tidy.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. a) Keep inside of building clean
  2. Empty waste baskets
  3. Vacuum, mop, and clean all floors as needed

iii.        Check and clean all bathrooms and check that toilet paper and paper towels are supplied

  1. Clean glass doors and windows
  2. Remove all trash to dumpsters
  3. Monitor activity areas and clean after use

vii.       Set up tables and chairs for programs as needed

viii.      Monitor and complete all minor repairs.  Arrange with the corps officer any major repairs that need attention.

  1. Stripping and waxing floors twice a year and buffing floors when necessary.
  2. Assist donors with donations
  3. Check security of buildings as needed.

 

  1. b) Monitor outside property for cleanliness:
  2. Rake up leaves during the fall months keeping parking lot and entrances clear.
  3. Clear entrances, walkways, of snow in winter months.

iii.        Change front sign when assigned by Corps Officer.

  1. Maintain cleanliness of area around the dumpsters.

 

  1. c) Monitor cleaning and maintenance supplies. Making sure all supplies are put away in storage closet and closet is locked. Work with Administrative Assistant to order supplies as needed.

 

  1. d) Driving as needed (bread runs/food bank, toy pickup/delivery)

 

  1. e) Maintain cleanliness of vehicles as assigned.

 

  1. f) Supervise community service volunteers assigned to assist in cleaning of the building.

 

  1. g) Perform other related tasks assigned by the Corps Officers
