Overview

This position in our Social Service department will provide ongoing support and assistance to the Food Pantry program. This position requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse population. Employee must be able to assist in all areas needed to ensure a smooth and cohesive operation. This position pays $13/hour

Responsibilities

  • Be punctual.
  • Coordinate pick-ups/deliveries with donors. 
  • Unload, record, and weigh donated items. 
  • Assist with client intake
  • Always ensure client confidentiality. 
  • Always remain professional and respectful. 
  • Assist with referring POH clients to Social Service Coordinator. 
  • Ensure that Family Services Worker is provided with all recorded weights, and receipts for monthly reports. 
  • Maintain regular Pantry hours. 
  • Stock and shelve all food items adhering to all codes applicable to food storage. 
  • Ensure that the Food Pantry and all areas used for Food Pantry purposes are well stocked and prepared for daily operation purposes. 
  • Assist with preparation for special community events
  • Ensure that the Food Pantry and all areas utilized for Food Pantry purposes are left in a clean and orderly fashion. 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Customer Service Experience

• Valid Driver’s License
• Must maintain a clean driving record and be insurable per Salvation Army employer regulations.
• Ability to routinely lift and carry boxes/bags/items that are 25lbs or more.
• Ability to shelve cases/bags/items that are 25lbs or greater.
