Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Divisional Lay Leadership Specialist will provide leadership and direction to the recruiting, training, and encouragement of local officers and other lay leaders in the Division.

The Lay Leadership Specialist will be expected to spend time in the field during the week as well as Sundays. He/She will need to become intimately aware of every corps in the command with respect to both current and potential lay leadership.

Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Divisional Lay Leadership Specialist will provide leadership and direction to the recruiting, training, and encouragement of local officers and other lay leaders in the Division.

The Lay Leadership Specialist will be expected to spend time in the field during the week as well as Sundays. He/She will need to become intimately aware of every corps in the command with respect to both current and potential lay leadership.

Corps Leadership Development:

  • Educate and assist Corps Officers in the development of corps leadership bodies, including, but not limited to: Senior and Junior Pastoral Care Councils and Corps

 

Local Officer Training:

  • Function as a conduit of information between THQ and local units regarding Local
  • Provide local officer training through a variety of mediums including retreats, individual consultation, corps workshops, and webinars.
    • Develop an annual schedule of divisional training events in conjunction with the Divisional Secretary for Program and Command leaders.
    • Develop promotional materials and presentations for local officer
  • Recruit and coordinate delegates for attendance at territorial programs including, but not limited to The Arsenal and LEAD.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Leadership, Ministry, or related
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a related field
  • Must be a uniform wearing Salvationist in good
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred, but not required
