Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Divisional Learning Zone Specialist will serve as a consultant and resource to the Corps and Institutions throughout the NEOSA Division in all matters relating to the planning, development, and operations of the Learning Zone After-School, Learning Zone Preschool, and Summer Day Camp programs.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Administration:

  • Maintain regular contact with program directors and perform regular site visits to all Learning Zone preschools, after-school, and summer day camp programs.
  • Assist with the licensing and Step Up to Quality processes. This includes planning and paperwork, follow up on inspections, and dissemination of initiatives and licensing changes.
  • Conduct regular Learning Zone Director meetings to include coaching and opportunities for collaboration amongst divisional staff.
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and on-boarding of Learning Zone staff when applicable.
  • Work with program directors to implement community collaborations, new program ideas, and assessment tools that will help maintain quality and safe programs.
  • Oversee the implementation of divisional Learning Zone goals and best practices to promote the mission of Learning Zones and The Salvation Army.
  • Oversee and manage the CACFP feeding programs.
  • Attend leadership meetings on behalf on behalf of the Learning Zone when requested.
  • Assist with childcare incident

 

Development:

  • Compile and provide information and complete reports related to Learning Zone
  • Serve as the point person for government and state contracts as requested.
  • Assist the Development department and Corps Officers in identifying new funding streams.
  • Assist in writing grants for Learning Zone
  • Assist with marketing efforts as

 

Other Duties:

  • Work with Corps Officers/Directors to help make connections between Learning Zone activities and other Corps programs.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Divisional Secretary for Program

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in either Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years childcare administration
  • Experience with grants and development
  • Experience in a supervisory/consultative
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish not required, but

 

 

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must possess excellent people and communication
  • Proficient in MS Office, and general computer
  • Possess a valid Ohio driver's
  • Clean Webcheck
