Overview

The Salvation Army’s Springfield Corp., is hiring a Program Counselor and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:

Location: 170 Pearl Street, Springfield, MA

Pay Range: $20 per hour

Hours: 15 hours per week

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

To assist the BTG Coordinator with the Bridging the Gap program

 

  1. Help plan and assist Bridging the Gap Curriculum
  2. Review lesson plans and offer input
  3. Attend weekly staff meetings
  4. Attend at least one group per week as an observer
  5. Discuss each participant’s progress with BTG Coordinator and interns
  6. Maintain a document of all participant’s addresses
  7. Advocate for participants where necessary.
  8. Talk to participants as required/needed
  9. Handle and teach teens at Bridging the Gap with varying personal backgrounds
  10. Attend training sessions as required
  11. Coordinate with area colleges and graduate programs to recruit interns and volunteers.
  12. Represent The Salvation Army’s social mission in the Bridging the Gap program
  13. Refer persons with spiritual needs to The Salvation Army Corps Officer
  14. Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor
