Indirectly: Youth and Family Education Site Coordinator
Salary/Grade: $15.00 per hour;73 NE
Description of Position:
Assist in the daily operations of the Summer Youth Enrichment Program. Group Leaders are responsible for the assigned participants in their group at all times and other participants when needed and outlined by supervisory staff. Group Leaders are responsible to manage the basic behavior of their group during learning activities, various special classes, field trips and guest presentations following provided program rules and behavior plans. Group Leaders must actively participate in all activities in order to model positive participation and cooperation to youth. Group Leaders will also facilitate provided 7 Habits and LitCamp curriculum and will teach or assist in teaching a Choice Class.
Requirements:
High School Diploma with 2-3 years of work-related experience in the areas of Elementary Education and or child care. Should be self-motivated; exhibit strong initiative and time management skills as well as good organizational and interpersonal skills. The position requires the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment but also the ability to work independently. Knowledge of cultural flexibility, competency in working with multi-cultural participants and experience working with inner-city and un-churched youth is required. Must be a detail-oriented, logical thinker, who is a motivated self-starter and able to work independently on assigned projects. Must be able to adapt and change to meet the needs of the organization and the community. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
