SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Truck Driver will assist in ensuring all Food Recovery Donations and Food Bank Pick-up. The individual will help obtain the Food Recovery Donations from the individual sources, and Food Bank pick station, to transport, help to sort and pack, and finally help disseminate the food donations. This individual will keep the building clean and maintain it in good shape.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive to pick up the Food Recovery donations.
• Drive to pick up Regional Food Bank delivery as needed.
• Assist with loading and unloading Food Recovery donations.
• Assist in sorting and packing Food Recovery donations.
• Assist in the dissemination of Food Recovery donations.
• Keep the building clean and good shape as the custodian.
• Other duties as assigned by Corps Officers/ or Julie Simpson.

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Must be well organized and efficient with the ability to multi-task.
• Must possess a high level of professionalism and cultural competence with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, volunteers, and external customers.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must maintain a happy and professional work environment.
• Must have some computer knowledge.
• Valid Driver’s License that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements, be able to drive a 12- 12-passenger van and 18-Foot Box Truck.
• To be able to clean and do some job of janitorial. Must be experienced in the usage of the lawn mower and the snow blower usage.
