Syracuse Area Services of The Salvation Army is presently conducting a search for a Clinical Visitation Worker.  This position is part of our Family Place Foster & Parenting Program. It is a full-time, hourly position with access to our comprehensive Benefit Program upon successful completion of our "initial employment period".  The Clinical Visitation Worker is responsible for the provision of court-ordered comprehensive visitation services to families having children currently in foster care, and to provide clinical services to identified clients.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assess visits between children in foster care and their natural parents.
  • Maintain comprehensive and detailed documentation of family interactions during visits with children.
  • Provide pre-visit and post-visit counseling, education and clinical intervention targeted to issues raised during the observed visits.
  • Intake and evaluation of prospective clients.
  • Devise and implement individualized service plans, goals and intervention strategies.
  • Maintain all case files, narratives, statistical information.
  • Provide ongoing assessments, treatment recommendations, clinical evaluations and termination reports.
  • Present cases for intra-agency consultation.
  • Participate in staff meetings, conferences, supervision and in-service training sessions.
  • Assigned and maintain a caseload eight (8) to ten (10) cases.
  • Collaborate with outside services and agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree.  Working towards Masters Degree and clinical related experience.
  • Strong background in family systems preferred.
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver license that meets The Salvation Army's Driving Program's insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to provide physical assistance and/or intervention with children.
  • Ensure families' needs are met during crises.
