STATUS: Nonexempt
SCIIEDULE: Full time (40 hours/week)

Responsibilities

The Lead Infant/Ones/Twos teacher shall be the lead teacher in the coordination of the Infant/Ones/Twos classroom. The lead teacher works in providing weekly lesson plans using The Creative Curriculum. Other tools that should enhance quality lesson planning in preschool include NAEYC best practices and The Infant Toddler Environmental Rating Scale (ITERS) as suggested through Step Up TO Quality. The Infant/Ones/Twos guidelines should be used to implement individualized lesson plans and activities to maintain all responsibilities associated with the effective running of the infant/Ones/Twos classroom.

Employees of The Salvation Anny Learning Center are expected to promote the necessary bond between parents, teacher, and children through professional communication that will enhance this necessary partnership.

Overall Responsibilities:
-Maintains prompt hours. Notifies Director of impending absence. 

-Maintains a neat, clean appearance. Dresses appropriately for interaction with toddlers/children and according to The Salvation Army Dress code . 

-Cooperates with The Salvation Army Learning Center team of staff for the benefit of a solid program.
-The Lead teacher shall carry out the duties laid out for him/her in the classroom schedule of responsibilities. This schedule will assist in maintaining a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
-Attends in -service trainings as required by Center Director. licensing and Step Up To Quality for the betterment of Center programs.
-Keeps abreast of current issues in Early Childhood Field.

-Supports the Center Director in completing all child assessments and screenings within the time-frame provided by the Center Director.
-Observes all policies of state licensing regulation. Observes all Salvation Army policies as outlined in Center employee handbook.

-Adheres to the National Association for the Education of Young Children Code of Ethics (NAEYC).
-Reports child or center management problems to the director promptly.
-Working in cooperation with partner agencies (i.e. 4C for Children, Promoting Resilient Children (PRC). ODJFS and Head Start for the betterment of the Center programs).
-Is flexible to change in hours or duties as necessary to maintain proper running of the Center.

Qualifications

-At minimum a (AA) Associates Degree or CDA equivalent. Bachelor's Degree Prefened.

-All full time teachers are expected to pursue an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood while employed full time

-Minimum of I year experience in an early childhood care setting.
