Overview

Position: Food Pantry Coordinator/Program Facilitator
Department: Service Extension

Location: The Salvation Army - Honesdale (Wayne County), PA Service Center,
231 Sunrise Avenue, Honesdale, PA 18431

Availability of Position: Immediate
Schedule: Part Time + (20 to 29 hrs/week)
Reporting Relationship: Assigned Regional Manager
Salary/Grade: $12.50 per hour; 72NE

Responsibilities

Description of Position:
Recruit and train volunteers for the Honesdale Food Pantry. Attend and help Coordinate all Honesdale Food Pantry
Committee Meetings. Perform client intakes and keep secure records. Coordinate all volunteer activities pertaining
to the food pantry such as stocking, rotation of stock and distribution. Order food from Second Harvest Food Bank.
Maintain a volunteer schedule and log of all volunteer activities. Provide monthly statistical reports to Second
Harvest Food Bank. Help to recruit and train volunteers for the Wayne County Emergency Disaster Team. Help
with seasonal programming. Attend and help Coordinate all Wayne County Emergency Disaster Committee
Meetings. Maintain a positive presence in the Wayne County Community, develop and maintain the programs of
The Salvation Army, and foster good relations with volunteers and other community agencies. Candidate will be
expected to respond courteously and promptly to all communications, insuring confidentiality of all client
information. The candidate will also perform all other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.

Qualifications

Requirements:
• High School Education with 5 years experience and/or extensive work history in diversified setting.

• Working knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Windows, Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.
• Typing speed of at least 40 wpm and excellent telephone and all other communication skills.
• Ability to work compassionately and effectively with persons seeking assistance.
• Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following
clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record
Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
• Have an appreciation for and understanding of the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army.
