Overview

Status:                        PT; 20 hours per week

Reports to:     Corps Commanding Officer                           

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Handles all upcoming administration for capital campaign in conjunction with Corps Commanding Office. Provides high- level administrative support, commitment, and coordination to the capital campaign. Supports the Officers, campaign counsel, and Campaign Committee Members by handling information requests, preparing correspondence and reports, coordinating fundraising initiatives to ensure campaign goals are attained. Requires high level of independent work ability, professionalism, and organization; assures discreet handling of all business.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:                   

  • Attend weekly Capital Campaign meetings, forwarding interview schedules to consultants and informing them of any changes to the schedules. Attend other meetings as requested.
  • Create weekly and monthly reports regarding campaign progress
  • Make calls to consultants, Capital Campaign committee members, staff members, and donors as requested. Handle all inquiries related to the Capital Campaign.
  • Effectively communicate as an extension of the Corps Commanding Officer related to capital campaign strategies and plans:
    • Prepare or edit correspondence
    • Demonstrate professional and gracious interpersonal communication with staff, board, guests, donors, and public
    • Ensure delivery of communication is professional and timely.
  • Collaborate with the Campaign Steering Committee to support the identification and invitation of top corporations, foundations, and individuals as assigned throughout the campaign.
    • Assist the Corps Commanding Officer with designed campaign strategies and plans
    • Proactively solve potential problems related to the campaign
    • Implement and coordinate fundraising activities specific to the capital campaign.
  • Manage communication among members of Capital Campaign Committee team
    • Act as communication liaison between consultants, Salvation Army staff, and capital campaign committee.
    • Manage Capital Campaign Calendar for Corps Commanding Officer.
    • Print materials and manage material flow for Capital Campaign events in coordination with campaign teams.
    • Collaborate with the campaign team to ensure completion of projects and event
  • Any other responsibilities as noted by the Corps Commanding Officer

Qualifications

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and projects, able to work independently
  • Exceedingly well organized, flexible with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial
  • Able to interact with staff, volunteers, and donors (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remained flexible, proactive, pleasant, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Good boundaries and attention to detail are equally important
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills: able and willing to provide information and request donations while making people feel welcome and taken care of
  • Strong written skills, able to compose professional correspondence; good spelling, grammar, punctuation skills
  • Customer service oriented, able to deal tactfully and appropriately with people
  • Excellent organization skills and project coordination abilities
  • Creative in solving problems or finding solutions
  • Requires attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
  • Able to understand and willing to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Computer literate with sound proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Posture toward learning, not afraid to take initiative, adaptive with a positive attitude
  • Able to take on new tasks frequently and adapt to new projects quickly
  • Ability to multitask and take on various department projects

        

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

One-year non-profit experience. Executive assistant experience preferred. Prior experience with donor engagement and a Bachelor’s in Communication, marketing or business administration strongly preferred.
