- High school graduate or equivalent with relevant youth work or volunteer experience.
- Experience in working at The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
- Computer skills particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Publisher, and Excel.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible.
- Must be energetic, organized, dependable, and compassionate.
- Must have a genuine interest and ability to relate with youth and earn their respect.
- Must have a realistic understanding of community life and the forces that influence youth.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and is understandable and relevant to young people.
- Must have maturity, self-control, sound judgment, leadership, sense of humor, and patience.
- Must role model academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy life skills.
- Must share a vision for The Salvation Army's philosophy for youth ministry.
- Self-motivated and strong communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license which is free of restriction by both the granting state and Chesterfield Insurance.
- Will respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but he/she is required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army.
