Overview

SUPERVISES:    Kettle Workers / Drivers                                              

STATUS:             Non-Exempt                                    

SCHEDULE:      Seasonally October – December – 40 hours per week

FUNCTION:      Give oversight and leadership to the annual kettle campaign including the hiring, training and supervision of kettle staff.

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

  1. Review and process applications for kettle workers & interviewing and recommending the hiring of same
  2. Contact Kettle Locations and getting any special instruction from local store management regarding kettle placement, storage of equipment, and emergency contact information.
  3. Devise kettle schedule including driver routes, drop off and pick up times.
  4. Train kettle workers with emphasis on proper safety, correct language, and Covid practices.
  5. Monitor production and remediate.
  6. Keep inventory of kettle stands, kettles, kettle signs, bells, hats, masks etc. See Corps Officer to order replacements
  7. Schedule kettle workers daily, monitoring hourly income of workers in order to make sure they are covering their own salary and are more profitable to the SA than their own wages. (Overtime can only be paid to people who warrant higher numbers by performance.)
  8. Distribute pay checks / cards to workers

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Punctual with attendance
  2. Dependable
  3. Needs to be a person of the highest personal integrity in representing The Salvation Army
  4. Must complete and pass The Salvation Army’s Statement for Working with Children
  5. Must pass a background check
  6. Ability to work with limited supervision to complete tasks in a timely and orderly fashion
  7. Good organization Skills and able to give oversight of people
  8. Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
